Bringing All the Bad

didn’t intend that. There are literally millions of books where men are the bad guys. Serial killers, rapists, child abductors, wife killers…the list is endless. We don’t think twice about it. That’s just the thriller formula, so we accept it. According to the publishing world, more men read that genre than any other.
Taking it to a grander scale like this might make it seem more personal and I really don’t want anyone to think that. I love all people. In this book, I really wanted to reflect that overheard conversation in a visceral, storytelling way and that required a blood sacrifice. Don’t…please don’t…take it to mean anything other than that. Fellas…I luv ya. I really do.
After all, the very first heroic person I wrote was an elderly man in Silo 49: Going Dark. And then there’s Sam, from the Between Life and Death series. He remains the character most people cry over, and the most quietly heroic portrait of a character I’ve ever written. Like I said, I love all people.
